About Dacia Arena

Dacia Arena History

The project began in the early 2010s with the goal of transforming an old municipal sports field into a cultural complex serving Friuli and the surrounding area. Sustainability, modularity, and an aesthetic that would harmonize with Udine's historic fabric while presenting a forward-looking image were central to the design mandate. Local and international specialists combined pre-cast concrete and lightweight steel trusses to create a cost-conscious hybrid structure that also speaks to civic identity. Upon completion, the building entered the conversation about what makes an Italian city a city — more than a functional venue, it became a statement about civic architecture and what such buildings can and should mean for their communities.

Dacia Arena Facts and Figures

The acoustic canopy spans nearly 3,000 square meters across two layers and has an average absorption coefficient of 0.65 at 500 Hz. The venue's reverberation time is about 1.8 seconds, a balance that lends warmth to music without sacrificing clarity. The retractable roof operates on rail-guided tracks and hydraulic arms, enabling quick transitions between open and closed configurations. These systems, combined with tiered seating and carefully tuned interior surfaces, contribute to an environment that supports both sporting competition and high-quality musical performances. The arena accommodates around 25,000 spectators for typical seated configurations.

Dacia Arena Seating Guide

Best seats at Dacia Arena

Lower Bowl (Rows A–L): Places patrons close to the action with a steep gradient that ensures every seat has an unobstructed view of the stage or field.

Mezzanine (Rows M–S): Provides the first level of elevation, offering a balanced perspective that combines proximity with a broader view of the entire venue.

Upper Bowl (Rows T–Z): The highest level of seating offers panoramic views of the entire arena, ideal for those who prefer to take in the full scope of the event and venue architecture.

Dacia Arena Seating Chart

The seating bowl and tiered layout were designed to provide clear sightlines and a strong sense of proximity to the event, whether sporting or musical. Every level offers a different perspective — closer intimacy in the lower tiers, broad tactical views from the upper sections — and the arena's overall geometry ensures excellent sightlines from virtually every seat.
