About Moss Rose Stadium
Moss Rose Stadium History
The establishment of the Moss Rose Stadium in Macclesfield took place in 1912 during an era of swift expansion for organized association football across England. This was a time when venues were popping up all over the place, reflecting a desire to provide representations of various communities and an increasingly huge number of spectators with stadiums that were their own and render the love of football a central part of local lives. The stadium has evolved over the decades while maintaining its traditional character and community-focused atmosphere.
Moss Rose Stadium Facts and Figures
The ground accommodates 6,335 supporters total, with 2,599 seated positions complementing standing areas. This capacity situates the ground squarely within non-league and the lower English Football League's topography — intimate enough to conjure atmosphere yet substantial enough to sweep local support to the fore during climactic home fixtures. The stadium's physical footprint reflects practical design principles over architectural grandeur. Functionality and fan intimacy through proximity are some of the hallmarks of the stadium experience, and the unpretentious character of the lower leagues seems to exist by those same virtues. Facilities updates executed for modern safety standards have done nothing in the essential character to alter that experience.

How to get to Moss Rose Stadium
Macclesfield is located within Cheshire, which gives it reasonable accessibility from nearby areas. Nonetheless, some forethought and planning will make the difference between a smooth or rough arrival for those choosing to attend a match at the stadium.
Parking at Moss Rose Stadium
The mostly residential area surrounding the ground provides the opportunity for street parking. However, trying to find a spot close by will be challenging for all but the earliest arriving fans, and parking won't be viable around the local streets once the kickoff draws near. For your safety, and to maintain a positive relationship with the local community, consider arriving early to secure parking. When the streets are packed, following road signs will help you find your way to and from the stadium.
