About FCSB

Inaugurated 76 years ago, in 1947, as Steaua București, Fotbal Club Steaua București — now officially FCSB — embodies a tradition of political and sporting nationalism that has endured through Romania's long history of regime changes. Originally formed as a military team under the Romanian Armed Forces, the club evolved into a national symbol supported widely. The transformation culminated in the club shedding the Steaua name in 2013, becoming FCSB without losing any of its historic trophies. Supporters passionately back the players aiming for Romanian Cup and Liga I successes, with unmatched consecutive Liga I titles starting from the 2010s, the last in 2018. Matchday rituals involve fans draped in red and white, singing anthems, and sharing a collective regional pride.

FCSB History and Achievements

Steaua is emblematic of Eastern European football, often aligned with state sponsorship and governmental soft power. During the Cold War, its military backing helped the club attract top talent and achieve milestones like winning the European Cup in 1986. This historical success is celebrated by supporters with enduring chants and traditions.

FCSB Honours

FCSB's impressive list of accolades includes numerous league titles and Romanian Cup victories, showcasing tactical prowess and squad depth necessary for knockout competitions. The club uses a multifaceted strategy blending international experience with emerging domestic talent, capable of adapting styles from possession-based play to aggressive counter-attacks. This winning culture permeates all levels of the organization, including League 2 and Under-19 teams. One of the club's most significant events is the "eternal derby" against Dinamo București, a highlight that embodies deep rivalry and passion.

FCSB Key Players

FCSB's current on-field momentum is bolstered by young talents like 19-year-old Denis Drăguș, who leads with goals and assists. Off-field, the club leverages innovative insurance partnerships to rehabilitate injured defenders effectively.
