About De Kuip

De Kuip History

The 1989 UEFA Cup final might be its most famous story, but the myth of De Kuip is just as strongly located in countless Eredivisie victories and European nights experienced there by supporters of Feyenoord.

De Kuip Facts and Figures

With a capacity of 47,500 for football matches, the venue strikes that perfect balance between intimacy and grandeur. The stadium's distinctive sunken bowl design is often affectionately referred to as 'the tub,' creating an amphitheater effect that enhances the spectator experience.

De Kuip Seating Guide

Best seats at De Kuip

You're close enough here to hear players talk tactics, to feel the percussion of shots hitting the goalposts.

Premium boxes and VIP areas naturally offer superior sightlines, elevated positions, and exclusive amenities that transform matchday into a luxury experience. These sections provide not just excellent views but also climate-controlled comfort and refined hospitality – perfect for those seeking tickets to high-stakes European fixtures where atmosphere meets elegance.

Yet many seasoned supporters argue that the lower tier sections directly behind the goals capture De Kuip's essence most authentically. Here, you're close enough to hear players communicate, to feel the percussion of shots striking woodwork, to experience the game with visceral immediacy that no VIP lounge can replicate. The choice ultimately depends on your priorities: refined comfort or raw, unfiltered passion.

De Kuip Seating Chart

The official seating map reveals the stadium's symmetrical design, with clearly demarcated sections ensuring straightforward navigation even for first-time visitors. Premium seating clusters around the halfway line, offering balanced perspectives of tactical movements and strategic adjustments as they unfold.

Before purchasing tickets, consulting the updated seating chart on the official website proves invaluable. Section numbers, accessibility routes, and proximity to facilities all factor into selecting the ideal location for your particular preferences. Whether you're planning to attend European clashes or domestic fixtures, understanding the layout enhances your entire matchday experience significantly.

How to get to De Kuip

Parking at De Kuip

Event-day parking around the stadium presents challenges typical of major European venues situated within urban environments. Limited on-site facilities mean advance planning becomes essential, particularly for high-profile fixtures drawing capacity crowds. Numerous private lots operate nearby, though availability fluctuates dramatically based on opponent prestige and competition importance.

Arrivals several hours before kickoff generally secure reasonable parking options, though this requires building additional time into your matchday schedule. Many experienced attendees opt for park-and-ride facilities on Rotterdam's periphery, combining automotive convenience with public transport efficiency for the final approach.

Public Transportation to De Kuip

The most dependable public transport option to reach De Kuip from Rotterdam Central Station is the Metro E line, which stops at Slinge. It is also the fastest: this same route takes about 15 minutes door to door. The Slinge stop is only about a 15-minute walk from the main entrance of the stadium. Ticket prices are reasonable, though slightly inflated on match days, and secure purchases can be made through RET, Rotterdam's public transport authority. The Metro E line runs from about 5:00 AM until midnight, and during match days, operates with greatly increased frequency to accommodate the swell of passengers. RET also has a handy smartphone app that provides real-time public transport information. It's helpful to check the app before departure, especially when evening kickoffs are likely to necessitate services running beyond their usual midnight cutoff.

From nursing facilities to child-friendly concession options, the venue accommodates families seeking to introduce new generations to the rituals and passions that define De Kuip's enduring legacy.

Latest De Kuip News

Ticketing policy discussions continue generating attention within Rotterdam's sporting community, particularly regarding resale platforms and buyer protection mechanisms. Ongoing scrutiny of secondary market operations reflects broader industry conversations about ensuring fair access while protecting supporters from fraudulent schemes that undermine confidence in legitimate ticket exchange.

Press coverage suggests these issues remain relevant as of late 2025, with various stakeholders evaluating how best to balance market flexibility with consumer protection. The dialogue underscores the importance of choosing platforms – like Ticombo – that prioritize transparency and verification, ensuring your ticket-buying experience remains secure regardless of shifting market dynamics.
