The band's Sphere residency is a product of Live Nation. Each Thursday–Saturday will feature two shows with two unique setlists – Metallica will not repeat any of the same songs each weekend. Following a year of rumors, Metallica confirmed plans for a concert residency at Sphere on 25 February 2026. The announcement revealed an eight-show run of performances, which were then expanded by an additional six shows. Since then, another ten dates were revealed, bringing the total to a whopping 24 shows at Sphere.

Spanning twelve weekends across 2026 and 2027, the run of concerts will showcase Metallica songs like "Fade to Black" alongside fan-favorite hits such as "Enter Sandman," "Nothing Else Matters," "Sad but True" and "The Unforgiven" and more.

Metallica at Sphere will be the first-ever hard rock or metal residency at Sphere.
