Stadio Olimpico, commonly known as the Olympic Stadium, is Rome’s principal sports venue located in the Foro Italico. The multi-purpose stadium — with a capacity of approximately 70,000 — is best known for football, serving as the home ground for Serie A clubs AS Roma and SS Lazio and hosting Italy national team fixtures, major international finals and large-scale concerts. Opened in the 20th century and extensively renovated for events such as the 1960 Summer Olympics and the 1990 FIFA World Cup, it remains one of Italy’s most important and historic sporting arenas.
