NFL Philadelphia Stadium Facts

Lincoln Financial Field is considered to be one of the most intimidating stadiums in the NFL for visiting teams. Located in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, the stadium opened in 2003 as the new home for the Philadelphia Eagles and has become known for its passionate fan base.

The stadium features an open-air design that creates a loud and intense atmosphere. A natural grass surface will be laid for the World Cup to satisfy FIFA's standards, as the stadium currently uses a hybrid grass system.

Lincoln Financial Field has hosted the Army-Navy Game, international soccer matches, and major concerts. The stadium's experience hosting large events makes Philadelphia well prepared for World Cup fans in 2026.

Seating at Philadelphia Stadium

There is something for everyone's budget when it comes to World Cup 2026 Philadelphia Stadium tickets at Lincoln Financial Field. FIFA organizes seating and pricing into categories. All seats are assigned seating – no general admission or open seating.

The best seats are those classified as Category 1, which are generally at midfield in the lower and club levels. They are the most expensive 2026 World Cup tickets and offer the best vantage points.

Category 2: Sitting in a high level seat but very close to the action or sitting in the lower bowl with a side view and being significantly cheaper.

Category 3 tickets: These seats are in the upper tiers and behind the goal. These World Cup 2026 tickets might not be as close to the action but are also electric.

The lowest tier of tickets — the Category 4 seats — will be the cheapest option in the stadium, but it will be the furthest seats from the action — if you're looking for a World Cup 2026 experience.

If you buy multiple tickets at once from the same listing, they will all be seated together at the stadium. Accessible seating is available.

Best seats at Philadelphia Stadium

The top seats for the World Cup 2026 in Philadelphia are the sideline seats in the lower bowl at Lincoln Financial Field. The stadium's design creates excellent sightlines throughout, with steep seating that brings fans close to the action. If you are looking to save money on World Cup 2026 tickets, I suggest seats in the upper deck behind the goal.

History of Philadelphia Stadium

Lincoln Financial Field opened in 2003, replacing the beloved Veterans Stadium that had served Philadelphia sports since 1971. The $512 million venue was designed specifically for football, creating a more intimate atmosphere than its multi-purpose predecessor.

The stadium hosted the 2017 and 2023 Army-Navy Games and has been the site of memorable Eagles playoff runs, including the 2017 season that culminated in the franchise's first Super Bowl victory. Lincoln Financial Field hosting World Cup 2026 matches adds to its growing legacy.
