Croatian Football League Tickets

Croatian Football League Tickets get you into one of the smallest and most atmospheric leagues in Europe. It's also a league in a country that most people will be in anyway. The SuperSport HNL starts in summer 2026 and continues until May 2027. There are just 10 teams in the league, but there are still 36 matchdays and 180 games, because every team plays every other team four times. Dinamo Zagreb will try to add to their record 26 titles after completing a domestic double. Hajduk Split attract close to 19,000 fans to the Poljud stadium and have the oldest organised supporters' group in Europe. Croatian Football League Tickets are available for every team in the HNL. Verified ticket listings are available, with full buyer protection included.

Croatian Football League Tournament Details

The official name is the SuperSport Hrvatska nogometna liga. The HNL is the top flight of Croatian football. It has existed since Croatia became independent in 1992. This will be the 36th season of the competition.

There are only 10 teams in the league. Each team plays each other four times. Twice at home and twice away. That means there are 36 matchdays in the league and 180 games played over the course of a season. This means that the Eternal Derby between Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split is played four times in a season rather than twice. Every game in the schedule repeats itself within a few weeks.

This is a small league with a huge reputation. Croatia reached the World Cup Final in 2018 and the semi-finals in 2022. Their players mostly came from this league. The HNL has always been a great source of talent for the Croatian national team. Modrić, Kovačić, Perišić, Brozović and Gvardiol all came out of this league.

Croatian Football League History

Dinamo Zagreb hold the record for the most titles won in the league. They have won 26 titles in 35 seasons of the league. This is an incredible level of dominance, even for a smaller European league. Hajduk Split have won 6 titles. Rijeka have won 2 titles. Their most recent was in the 2024/25 season when they broke Dinamo's streak.

Both of these teams pre-date the country of Croatia. Hajduk Split were founded in 1911 by students from Split who were studying in Prague and played their first match in a Prague pub. Dinamo's history also goes back to 1911. Hajduk's Torcida supporters' group were established in 1950. This makes them the oldest supporters' group in Europe. They formed more than a decade before the ultra movement began in Italy.

Dinamo are the only Croatian team to compete regularly in the Champions League group stage. They also made it to the Europa League quarter-finals in 2021 after beating Tottenham. Hajduk reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup three times in the 1970s and 80s, facing the best clubs on the continent while the country was still part of Yugoslavia.

Croatian Football League Structure

There are ten teams, 36 match days and 180 games, with every club playing each other four times.

The champion qualifies for the Champions League qualifying round. Second place go to the Europa League and third place to the Conference League. The Croatian Cup winner will also be awarded a European spot.

In a league of only ten, relegation means automatic drop to the Prva NL for last placed. The team in ninth place will contest a two-legged relegation playoff against the second-place team in the second tier.

The Winners of Last Season's Croatian Football League

Dinamo Zagreb won the 2025/26 HNL. It is their 26th title, which they won by remaining unbeaten in their first 23 matches. Dinamo then sealed the domestic double by beating Rijeka 2-0 in the Croatian Cup Final at the Opus Arena in Osijek on 13 May.

Dion Drena Beljo scored 31 goals to win the Golden Boot and Player of the Season awards. The Manager of the Season award went to Mario Kovačević and Osijek's Marko Malenica was named Goalkeeper of the Season.

Hajduk Split came in second and qualified for the Europa League. Rijeka and Varaždin went to the Conference League. Vukovar 1991 were relegated. They have been replaced by Rudeš.

Total attendance at HNL games last season was 945,330, giving an average of 5,252 per match. That is modest by European standards, and the figure was heavily boosted by Hajduk Split, who usually see more than three times the average crowd size.

The Top Teams in the 2026/27 Croatian Football League

Dinamo Zagreb are favourites, as they have been for most of the league's existence. Since 1992, they have won all but nine Croatian titles. Their home is the Maksimir and their supporters, the Bad Blue Boys, are some of the best-organised in the Balkans.

Hajduk Split are the club most visiting fans come to see. The Poljud can hold almost 34,000 and the crowd at Hajduk games averages around 19,000. That is by far the highest in Croatia, and larger than several clubs in better-known leagues manage. The shell-shaped roof over the stands, designed for the 1979 Mediterranean Games, is one of the most unusual in Europe.

Rijeka ended Dinamo's domination in 2024/25 and will be among the strongest challengers again. Osijek have the newest and best-appointed ground in the country in the Opus Arena. Other teams include Istra 1961 in Pula, Gorica, Slaven Belupo and Lokomotiva Zagreb. Rudeš are the only promoted side.

The Poljud is the reason you would travel to see Hajduk Split's football. Located in a city of 160,000 people and a short walk from the Adriatic, it holds almost 34,000 fans and Torcida will occupy the north stand with the most committed, loud and long-lasting atmosphere that any bigger club can produce. Established in 1950 after members were inspired by the fans they saw at the World Cup in Brazil, Torcida are the oldest organised supporters' group in Europe and created the model that Italian ultras then adopted.

With the ten-team system in place now, the Eternal Derby between Dinamo and Hajduk plays out four times a season, meaning a trip is much more straightforward to arrange than a trip to most other European derbies. Both Maksimir in Zagreb and the Poljud offer fierce atmospheres and a great experience.

The other advantage is location. Croatia is a prime summer holiday destination, and the season runs from summer through to May, overlapping the tourist calendar at both ends. The cities hosting football are easy to reach, and combining a holiday by the coast in August or May with a match is perfectly feasible.

Secure Authentic Croatian Football League Tickets with Buyer Protection

Every ticket is vetted before being posted online and payment is secured by us until we have confirmed that the tickets have been successfully delivered. Should your seller not turn up, the tickets you receive do not match what was advertised or a game is abandoned, your buyer protection is in place to ensure you are refunded.

The clubs tend to sell most of their tickets themselves or via outlets within the country, and many websites are Croatian language only and often do not take foreign credit or debit cards. Hajduk also operate a membership system that takes priority for their most important games, leaving little for general sale.

The Eternal Derby presents its own challenges. In recent years, away tickets for Dinamo vs Hajduk have either been limited or banned altogether due to crowd trouble, and each game's rules vary. Check if away fans will be allowed ahead of any specific match.

A verified resale marketplace eliminates the confusion over language and payment methods and offers a single place to go for support.

Croatian Football League Ticket Prices

The HNL is one of the cheapest top-flight leagues in Europe.

It's incredibly cheap to see smaller teams. Slaven Belupo, Gorica, Lokomotiva, Varaždin and Rudeš usually charge between €7 and €15 for adults, and many of their games attract less than 2,000 fans, giving you one of the most intimate matchdays in world football.

Rijeka, Osijek and Istra are slightly pricier, at around €10 to €20 for a regular game, with a bump up for European matches.

Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split are more expensive. Hajduk especially price above the rest of the league because their popularity is real – they fill a 34,000-seat stadium in a relatively small city, and the northern end, behind one of the goals, is the most popular stand in Croatia.

The Eternal Derby is its own beast. There are four games a season, more than most countries, but each one is priced significantly higher than a standard game.

When to Buy Croatian Football League Tickets

The schedule comes out ahead of the season, although kick-off times move around for TV purposes and the dates shift based on European games.

For the Eternal Derby, buy tickets as soon as they're released. You get four matches a year instead of two like in most countries, but they all sell out and you never know when the away fans will be allowed in.

For Hajduk home games in general, buy three or four weeks out. They pull the biggest crowds in the country and Poljud is usually sold out for most games.

For anything else, there's plenty of flexibility. The lower clubs still often have tickets for sale on matchday, and you can easily plan a game in Koprivnica or Velika Gorica within the week.

One thing to keep in mind: the season runs through the Croatian summer at both ends, so an August or May game works nicely with a seaside holiday. Winter is both the low season for football and the low season for travel.

Latest Croatian Football League News

Dinamo Zagreb head into the 2026/27 campaign as the double holders, after winning their record 26th league title and beating Rijeka 2-0 in the Croatian Cup final in Osijek in May. That includes going 23 matches unbeaten during the middle part of last season.

Dion Drena Beljo claimed the Golden Boot and Player of the Season awards with 31 goals in 36 games, one of the best individual returns in league history. Manager of the Season was Mario Kovačević.

Four Croatian teams will compete in Europe. Dinamo Zagreb are in the Champions League qualifiers, Hajduk Split in the Europa League and Rijeka and Varaždin in the Conference League.

Rudeš will be back in the top division replacing Vukovar 1991, who were relegated following just one season. Total attendance across the league last season was 945,330 at an average of 5,252 per game, but Hajduk attracted over three times that figure at the Poljud.
