Poland Ekstraklasa, meaning "Extra Class" in Polish, named PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa since the 2019–20 season due to its sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is the top Polish professional league for men's association football teams.

Ekstraklasa Tickets

Ekstraklasa Tickets are your ticket to one of the most rapidly expanding football leagues in Europe. The Polish top-flight Ekstraklasa kicked off the 2026/27 season on July 24th, 2026. There are 18 teams in the league with 34 matchdays over the course of the season, with 306 matches. Last season saw attendances increase by 7.4 per cent, with an average crowd of 13,593 per game.

Lech Poznań are the defending champions, having claimed their 10th league title, and winning the league for a second successive season. Wisła Kraków were the Polish second-tier champions this season, and bring their 13 Polish league titles and one of the largest fanbases in the country with them as they return to the top tier. They join fellow returnees Śląsk Wrocław, as well as new-boys Wieczysta Kraków. All 18 clubs in the Ekstraklasa can be found on Ticombo, with verified tickets and buyer protection for every listing.

Ekstraklasa Info

The Ekstraklasa is the highest level of Polish football. It features 18 teams playing against each other home and away over 34 matchdays. Three points are awarded for a win, with one point for a draw, while the season is split into two halves by a winter break running from December into February.

Polish football has seen a significant rise in popularity over the past decade. There were 4,159,468 fans in attendance across the Ekstraklasa last season, up over seven per cent compared to the previous season. Lech Poznań regularly enjoy crowd sizes over 41,000. This shows that the level of interest in Polish football is far larger than its standing on the international scene suggests. For example, in April last year, Ruch Chorzów played host to Wisła Kraków in the Polish second division, before 53,314 fans. This would be one of the highest attended fixtures in the majority of top European leagues.

The league remains highly competitive. In the last six seasons, five different teams have been crowned champions, and there hasn't been a dominant team as we have seen in countries such as Portugal, Scotland, and the Netherlands.

History of the Ekstraklasa

Polish league football dates back to 1927. Legia Warsaw are the league's record holders with 15 titles, while Ruch Chorzów and Górnik Zabrze sit at 14 titles each. Wisła Kraków have 13 titles to their name, while Lech Poznań now have ten, having added to their tally last season.

In recent times, the Ekstraklasa has proven to be very unpredictable. Legia were crowned champions in 2020/21, with Lech Poznań following them in 2021/22. Raków Częstochowa secured their maiden title in 2022/23, Jagiellonia Białystok won their first title in 2023/24, and Lech Poznań have been crowned champions in the last two seasons.

The greatest days for Polish football in Europe came in 1970 when Górnik Zabrze reached the final of the Cup Winners' Cup, and Legia Warsaw made it to the semi-finals of the European Cup in 1970 and 1991. Legia's appearances in the Champions League group stage in 2016 and 2021 represent the most recent high-water mark for Polish sides.

Ekstraklasa Structure

18 clubs play 34 matchdays, totalling 306 matches in the competition. The league runs from July to December, then resumes from February to May.

The Ekstraklasa champions qualify for the Champions League qualifying rounds. The runners-up and Polish Cup winners take the Europa League and UEFA Conference League spots, with places below these.

The coefficient position of Poland has risen in recent years, and from the 2027/28 season the Polish champion will begin in the fourth round of Champions League qualifying, instead of the earlier rounds. This will mean a much shorter route to the league phase.

The two teams that finish lowest are relegated automatically to I liga, while the team finishing in 16th place plays a two-legged play-off against the third-place team in I liga.

Last Season's Winners in the Ekstraklasa

Lech Poznań secured the 2025/26 Ekstraklasa, which was their 10th title and the second in a row. They clinched the title on 16 May when they beat Radomiak Radom 3-1. Second placed was Górnik Zabrze. The top scorer of the season was Tomáš Bobček with 20 goals.

Five clubs qualified for Europe – quite a lot for an 18-team league, namely Lech, Górnik Zabrze, Jagiellonia Białystok, Raków Częstochowa and GKS Katowice. Legia Warsaw had the worst season of the modern era, and included a 12-game winless streak and a 4-0 loss to Lech in April.

The teams that were relegated were Lechia Gdańsk, Arka Gdynia and Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza. The highest attendance of the season was 41,598 for Lech against Arka on 8 May.

The Best Teams in the 2026/27 Ekstraklasa

Lech Poznań will be aiming for a hat-trick of titles. The Enea Stadium, with a capacity of around 43,000, usually sees the highest attendances of any team in Poland, which makes the home fixtures the hardest tickets to get in the league.

Górnik Zabrze came second last season and go into the Champions League qualifying route alongside Lech. Jagiellonia Białystok, Raków Częstochowa and GKS Katowice have all played European football before.

Legia Warsaw are the dark horse of the season. The most successful club in Polish history had a shocking year and will no doubt hope to improve significantly. Their games always attract the largest away fan bases in Poland.

The three promoted sides change the dynamic of the league. Wisła Kraków were promoted as I liga winners, bringing one of Poland's historic clubs back into the top flight, and the Kraków derby between them and Cracovia will be back. Śląsk Wrocław came back after a single season away, while Wieczysta Kraków make their debut in the top flight after a quick rise through the divisions.

Watch the Ekstraklasa Live

Polish fans are among the most passionate in Europe, and the ultra movement is more comparable to Italy or the Balkans than England. Tifo displays, constant chanting and flares are common at many of the larger stadiums, and sometimes the atmosphere is more impressive than the football on the field.

The Enea Stadium at Lech Poznań is one of the best, with around 43,000 seats and the famous 'Kocioł' section behind one goal. Lech also gave world football the 'Poznań' move, which involves fans turning away from the game and holding hands. Many clubs in Europe now use the celebration.

The derbies are fiery. The Kraków derby between Wisła and Cracovia will come back this season following the promotion of Wisła, and is considered one of the most intense in Europe. The biggest game in Poland is Legia against Lech, but there are also fierce rivalries in the Silesian derbies involving Górnik, Piast, GKS Katowice and Ruch.

Another advantage is the cost. Football in Poland's top flight is cheap by European standards, and a trip to Poznań, Kraków or Warsaw is one of the least expensive ways to spend a weekend supporting a team on the continent.

100% Genuine Ekstraklasa Tickets Backed By Buyer Protection

All listings are checked for legitimacy before they go live, and we hold payments until the tickets are confirmed as delivered. If the tickets aren't what you were promised or the fixture gets cancelled, we'll make sure your money is returned to you.

Poland's ticketing system can be a bit of a headache. Some clubs require buyers to register for a fan card before they can purchase tickets, and most clubs' online ticket sales portals only accept orders from people who have created an account using a Polish ID number or passport details. These sites are often only available in Polish.

Away tickets are limited, and some fans never get them at all. Visiting fans were not permitted to attend the Kraków derby and matches between Legia and Lech in recent seasons.

Buying through a verified marketplace eliminates the need to register with a Polish club and provides international buyers with access to buyer protection.

Ekstraklasa Ticket Costs

Ticket prices in the Ekstraklasa are among the lowest for a European top-flight league. Most tickets for mid-level teams like Korona Kielce, Wisła Płock, Radomiak, Zagłębie Lubin and Motor Lublin are priced at around €8-15 for adults. That's cheaper than going to the movies for the most part of Western Europe.

Larger clubs have slightly higher prices but are still relatively cheap compared to other countries. Matches involving Górnik Zabrze, Raków, Jagiellonia, Pogoń and Widzew are usually priced between €12 and €25 per ticket, depending on the game.

Lech Poznań, Legia Warsaw and Wisła Kraków have the most expensive tickets. Prices increase especially when these teams play against one another in a derby or during European matches. Even so, a good seat at the Enea Stadium costs less than a restricted view at most clubs in Europe's top five leagues.

The only exceptions are for games with heightened rivalries, such as the Kraków derby and Legia vs Lech, and for qualification rounds of the Champions League. These games will have higher prices because of the greater demand.

When to Purchase Ekstraklasa Tickets

The full season schedule is announced before the campaign begins and each game's date is announced well in advance, although kick-off times change due to television scheduling.

For the Kraków derby and Wisła Kraków's away fixtures, you should buy your tickets as soon as they're released. With Wisła's recent promotion, these matches have the most demand in years, and their away matches will be the most difficult to find.

For matches at Lech Poznań, you should plan to buy your tickets between three and six weeks before the game. They always sell out at the country's largest stadium.

For every other game, you can be flexible. Games involving mid-table teams are available until the last week, and a lot of Polish teams still sell tickets on the day of the game.

Keep in mind that the winter break begins in December and continues into February. There will be no league games for about two months during the season, so make your travel plans around this gap.
